Who they are
The Sillekyatha are a traditional community in southern India, primarily concentrated in the state of Karnataka. Historically linked to artistic expressions such as traditional leather shadow puppetry, in addition to fishing and manual labor, they preserve their cultural identity and express their daily life in Kannada. As part of historically marginalized groups, they maintain ancestral Hindu devotions, remaining completely unreached by the proclamation of the gospel.
