Who they are
The San Miguel el Grande Mixteco are an Indigenous community originally from the mountainous regions of Oaxaca, Mexico. Heirs to an ancestral culture rich in communal traditions and agricultural work, they keep their own variety of the Mixteco language alive. Their identity is shaped by bonds of local solidarity and ongoing efforts to preserve their cultural heritage amid the changes of the modern world.
