Who they are

The Selaru are an indigenous people who live on Selaru Island in the Tanimbar archipelago, in Maluku Province in eastern Indonesia. With a strong connection to the sea and the land, they preserve their own language and a communal way of life centered on fishing and farming. Although most profess the Christian faith, they face the challenge of deepening their biblical roots amid geographic isolation.
