Who they are
The Seneca are an Indigenous nation originating in the Great Lakes region and what is now New York State, traditionally known as the keepers of the western door of the Iroquois Confederacy. With a rich cultural heritage tied to the land and community life, many preserve traditional ceremonies alongside Christian practices, seeking to keep their language and the memory of their ancestors alive.
