Who they are

The Sino-Native people form a community of mixed ancestry in the state of Sabah, in island Malaysia, originating from marriages between Chinese immigrants and native peoples of the region, such as the Kadazan-Dusun and the Murut. These unions gave rise to a distinctive and welcoming culture that weaves together Chinese customs, Bornean traditions, and multiple languages in everyday life. Although many move easily among different cultural influences, most of this community remain faithful to ethnic beliefs and family rituals, with little opportunity to understand the message of the gospel.
