Who they are

The Turku Arabs are a community traditionally engaged in pastoralism and trade in the central region of Africa, with strong historical ties between Chad and Sudan. Their cultural identity reflects Sudanese Arab heritage, marked by communal life and hospitality. Practicing Sunni Islam, they preserve customs handed down through generations, having very little contact with the message of the gospel.
