Who they are
The Ulukwumi, also known as the Olukumi, live in Nigeria, in the Aniocha area west of the Niger River, in Delta State. They are mainly farmers and celebrate an annual yam festival called usu. Their communities are surrounded by larger Igbo-speaking communities. Most identify as Christians, and there are minorities who follow traditional religions and Islam.
