Who they are
The Wallisian, also called Wallisians, are a Polynesian people from the island of Wallis, also called Uvea. Today they live in Wallis and Futuna, in New Caledonia, especially Nouméa, and in Vanuatu and Fiji. By 1842, the entire island of Wallis had adopted Catholicism. There, customary gestures, an exchange of gifts, maintain good relations between families and villages. The island has a king, the Lavelua, assisted by ministers and village chiefs.
