Who they are
The Xokleng are an Indigenous people living in the forests and valleys of southern Brazil, mainly in the state of Santa Catarina. Traditionally connected to the araucaria forests, they carry a history of great cultural resilience. Today, they continue to struggle to preserve their lands, strengthen their traditional language, and keep their communal ties and ancestral customs alive.
