Os yonzhi são uma comunidade tibetana que vive nas montanhas remotas da China ocidental. Integrados ao universo cultural tibetano, comunicam-se na língua tibetana amdo e mantêm uma forte ligação com suas tradições ancestrais e com o budismo tibetano. Devido ao isolamento geográfico e à fidelidade religiosa comunitária, o povo permanece praticamente sem contato com a mensagem do Evangelho.
