Who they are

The Yuqui are an Indigenous people of the Tupi-Guarani language family living in the tropical forests of Bolivia’s lowlands, especially in the department of Cochabamba. Historically hunters and gatherers in the Amazon basin, they maintain a deep connection to the native forest. Today they face rapid social change as they seek to preserve their identity, language, and territory.
