Micronesia is an archipelago of small islands scattered across the northern Pacific, comprising Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and Kiribati. These territories have tiny land areas but are surrounded by a vast ocean, which historically isolated each island from the next.
The region has 41 ethnic groups, and only 2 are still considered unreached, one of the lowest absolute numbers on the site. This is partly explained by the small total population and the long presence of Christian missions in the region since the 19th century.
Average evangelization is 18.7%. Of the 69 mapped ethnic groups, 28 still do not have the complete Bible in their language, a number that, although small in absolute terms, represents real communities still without full access to Scripture.
Praying for Micronesia means praying for small, distant islands that often go unnoticed on world maps, but which God knows and loves one by one.
Small territories separated by vast ocean distances, making travel between them difficult.
Christian missions reached the region in the 19th century, leaving an established evangelical foundation.
Only 2 of the region's 41 ethnic groups still have no contact with the gospel.
Many of these islands have only a few thousand inhabitants, requiring missionary strategies suited to a small scale.
