Os Heeri são uma comunidade tradicional que vive no Sri Lanka, intimamente ligada à cultura cingalesa e falante da língua sinhala. Sua rotina cotidiana é moldada pelas tradições locais e pela profunda herança do budismo theravada, que define a identidade cultural da região. Apesar de estarem inseridos na sociedade cingalesa, a maioria ainda não teve a oportunidade de ouvir claramente a mensagem de Jesus.
