People
Who they are
The Nghuki live in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, especially near Olifantshoek and Upington. They are a San community historically linked to the Nǀuu language, also known as Nǁng. Younger generations have shifted to Khoekhoe and Afrikaans, languages that have become part of community life.
