People
Who they are
The San Miguel Piedras Mixtec form a small Indigenous community settled in the mountains of Oaxaca in southern Mexico. Guardians of their own language variety and a rich cultural heritage, they have traditionally made their living through farming. Although most profess the Christian faith, ancestral practices remain deeply interwoven with their daily lives and spirituality.
